242. Dionisio Gutiérrez: la Guerra Fría del Siglo XXI

Editorial of the Razón de Estado program number  242

Planet Earth is just one of over 100 billion objects in our galaxy, the Milky Way, which in turn, experts say, is just one of hundreds of millions of galaxies that exist in the universe.

However, in that infinite space, where we Earthlings are a tiny sample of the universe, Beijing’s dictatorship decided they want to take over the whole planet.

Instead of seeking ways to cooperate, grow and evolve together to become a better world, Beijing’s big shot is trying to make us kill each other, as if he didn’t know that strength is only achieved when we have each other alive, at peace, exchanging goods and services, respecting rights and freedoms, and working as a team.

Jinping tramples on the people he claims to govern, uses his power to bribe and corrupt, not nations, but continents, of which Africa and Latin America can give count; he helped the criminal who rules in Moscow to invade a sovereign nation, and today, despite the beating that the brave Ukrainians are giving the Kremlin’s despot, Beijing’s boss doubles down on his support for Putin to continue killing innocent people.

In addition to intimidating his neighbors Vietnam and the Philippines, Mr. Xi, also wants to take over Taiwan, because he woke up one morning with the desire to go back to the 17th century and forgot that Taiwan has been respected as a sovereign nation since 1949.

In the Cold War of the 20th century, the Soviet Union competed in military power and lost. China, in the 21st century, in addition to increasing its military power, intends to dominate the global economy using its traditional practices of unfair competition, theft of intellectual property, disinformation, manipulation, lying and mugging.

China competes aggressively with the United States in a battle of egos in Mandarin, as it does not like the idea of being a second fiddle or having a smaller economy.

The reality is that we are in a new Cold War that has not yet been declared. Besides trying to dismantle democracies of the free world, China represents a global threat.

What can we, earthlings do? If things get really complicated, we should start looking for another planet.
