Dionisio Gutiérrez was invited to the campaign closure of Spain´s Popular Party (Partido Popular), where the candidate Pablo Casado expressed his gratitude for his leading participation in the defense of democracy and liberty in the Latin American region.

On Friday, April 26, in the city of Madrid, the leader of the Popular Party, Pablo Casado, gave his final campaign speech.

Dionisio Gutiérrez was invited to the event as ne of the distinguished Latin American leaders who has fought for democracy, Rule of Law and the liberties of the region, especially in the case of Venezuela.

Before a crowd of more than fifteen thousand people, the candidate Pablo Casado, dedicated these words to Latin America: “It is true that never before in the democratic history of Spain had the government depended on those who want to break territorial unity, of those who want to whitewash the terrorist history of ETA and of those communists who want to repeat the failure, misery and oppression that has existed in Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia.”

Casado took advantage of the presence of many Latin American leaders in the event to congratulate them for their work: “And I want to greet the ex-president of Bolivia, Tuto Quiroga; the ex-president of Colombia, Andrés Pastrana and the future president of Guatemala, Dionisio Gutiérrez. Thank you very much dear friends. What you have suffered in Ibero-America will not be repeated. We will put the brakes on populism.”

Dionisio Gutiérrez remarked: “I appreciate the words of Pablo Casado for recognizing the crisis that Latin America is enduring and the political work that we are doing in the region”, he added,  “I am not participating in election campaigns for the 2019 elections in Guatemala and it is not in my plans for the near future.”
